Whether we like it or not, advertisement has been pouring into our daily life. They are so powerful that some people believe that it is not the needs of people but the power advertisement that makes commodities popular. Personally I don't agree with this opinion.

First, let's make clear what the real needs of people are. Real needs can be divided into two categories: the material satisfaction and spiritual satisfaction. People tend to regard material satisfaction as real needs and spiritual satisfaction as waste of money and time. This is not true. Some commodities may not be useful but they can give the owner a kind of satisfaction.

Second, let's make clear the reason why advertisement is powerful. The key principle of advertisers is to grasp the needs of consumers, then pass the potential consumers the information that their commodities can meet your need. Advertisers can promote the needs of people, exploit the needs or even produce the needs of people. But whatever they do, it will be based on the needs of people.

But there are some advertisements that exaggerate the functions of the commodities to tell the wrong information to consumers. They make the commodities popular by cheating the majority of consumers. And also there are some commodities that do harm to the health of consumers and to the society. For example, smoking is poisonous, but the advertisements try to make a heroic image of the smokers, as the result smoking is popular among young men who are dreaming to become heroes in women's eyes. But such advertisements are minorities.

In summary, advertisements bring us convenience to choose the commodities that can meet our needs. Most of the commodities are popular due to their usefulness, only some of them are due to the influence of advertisement.

Shanghai left a deep impression on me. My parents occasionally allow me to go there with my older cousin. I simply adore the hustle and bustle of the place. I particularly like coming here to shop for presents and trinkets, since you can find something to suit any wallet, age or taste. It is fascinating, to browse the stores, going both through modern high-end technology hubs, and small wooden houses where generation after generation have practiced the same craft or served the same signature dish since at least a few centuries back. These are one next to the other, making the contrast that much more evident. I sometimes simply enjoy sitting on the side of the street, eating a filled glutinous rice ball and listening to the bits and pieces of different languages that the tourists are flinging enthusiastically at each other. If you ever want to see multiculturalism, this is the place to come to. A couple of days here are more than enough for me to do my shopping, take the odd visit to the Natural History Museum, and enjoy the dishes I particularly like.

I found there was a bat nest in my balcony recently, and one night I happened to see they flew across the patio under our apartment and hover in the sky. I was shocked, because it was dark outside but they knew exactly where to go without mistakes. Moreover, they went out only at night.

I thought bats are interesting not because they can fly in the dark since I know they are nocturnal animals. I always think the ability which aids bats fly and prey capture is their unusual eye-sight, like another nocturnal animal, owls. But the truth is because of their echolocation. By comparing the outgoing pulse with the returning echoes the brain and auditory nervous system can produce detailed images of the bat's surroundings. A traditional story :Chang’e and Houyi

Chang'e is the Chinese goddess of the moon. The lunar exploration-orbiting spacecraft Chang'e 1 is named after her.

According to legend, Chang'e and her husband Houyi were immortals living in heaven. One day, the ten sons of the Jade Emperor transformed into ten suns, causing the earth to scorch. Having failed to order his sons to stop ruining the earth, the Jade Emperor summoned Houyi for help. Houyi, using his legendary archery skills, shot down nine of the sons, but spared one son to be the sun. The Jade Emperor was obviously not pleased with Houyi's solution to save the earth: nine of his sons were dead. As punishment, the Jade Emperor banished Houyi and Chang'e to live as mere mortals on earth.

Seeing that Chang'e felt extremely miserable over her loss of immortality, Houyi decided to journey on a long, perilous quest to find the pill of immortality so that the couple could be immortals again. At the end of his quest he met the Queen Mother of the West who agreed to give him the pill, but warned him that each person would only need half the pill to become immortal.

Houyi brought the pill home and stored it in a case. He warned Chang'e not to open the case and then left home for a while. Chang'e became too curious: she opened up the case and found the pill just as Houyi was returning home. She either accidentally or purposely swallowed the pill. She started to float into the sky because of the overdose. Chang'e kept on floating until she landed on the moon.

While she became lonely on the moon without her husband, she did have company，a jade rabbit.

With my sister, my brother and his wife, we four people got back Nanyang by air from Guangzhou yesterday afternoon. We finally finished this trip to Hongkong. Before the trip, I thought it might be better than the trip I had had before, but I didn't expect it to be so terrible.

At first, the manager told us that we would take a coach to Zhengzhou, from where we would take a train to Hongkong, but when we got on the coach they changed their idea. They said that for some reason they had taken us to Hongkong by the coach. From Nangyang to Hongkong, the coach was running for 24 hours that it was really terrible for us.

After sitting on the coach for 24 hours, we arrived to the border of Shenzhen and Hongkong. There were a lot of passengers. We followed the crowd to check into Hongkong until 11 o'clock at night. We stayed at Hongkong only one and half a day but about two-third of time was shopping in stores. Jewelry store, clocks and watches store, gift store and electrical shop and so on. The tour guide constantly changed. There were three guides in one and a half days. One of the guides even bullied us to buy their watches.

In the last day, by the former plan, we should visit Zhuhai for all day and then going back to Nanyang by coach. But in that situation, no one had interesting to visit. We didn’t want to take the coach for 24 hours again. So we decided to leave the passenger group and going home by air from Guangzhou ourselves.
