雅思写作6分范文(篇一)

题目:You can get up-to-date news from radio, television and Internet. Which one you think is the best to know about news.

Nowadays, there are all kinds of channels to get news, such as radio, television, newspaper and internet. In my opinion, internet is the best among these.

Since its invention, the Internet has been keeping booming as a prospective industry. Not only because it is a combination of texts, audios and videos, but also due to its convinience. It has threatened the domination of spreading news of the traditional media, and, I would say, is about to take control.

We can find what we want on internet such as latest news, books, songs, movies and so on. With radio, we can merely hear. Compared with newspaper, radio and television can provide the lastest information. For instance, it was immediately availalbe of the breaking news of the Americans’ attacking on Iraq, as well as that the Twin Towers of New York were destroyed on September 11, 2001. However, we just cannot carry television.

Internet is a convinient way of getting information, as long as your mobile phone is connected or you possess a laptop. When I am on a vehicle, I usually have my cellphone connected to internet, then browse what happend in the past few hours, or begin a conversation with my friends. Reading newspaper is also a good way to kill time, but for me, a youngster, it is not so modern as “surfing online while being transported”.

The traditional media will never disappear, though internet has taken a big advantage in the competition. And definitely, there is still a long way for internet to go. Anyway, internet benefits me the most, and I highly appreciate it.

Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, purpose of education being changed in Korea. There are some people who think that competition in children should be made, also others believe that children who are taught to co-operate as well as become more useful adults. There are advantages and disadvantages for both of the arguments.

To begin with, what is good if a sense of competition in children is made? They could develop themselves more and more as they learn and study a lot to win from the competition. To prove this, in Korea, it is popular- even common now- to have a tutor who come to student’s house to teach extra pieces of study with paying a lot of money. They learn faster than what they learn at school. Furthermore, during the vocations, students study abroad to learn English for a month instead of revise school work. If they have experiments such as study abroad, it is one of the greatest plus point to go to the famous well-known high school. Moreover, there are four big school exam and two national examinations to test students’ level of studies. Generally, only the highest 40% can go to the good quality highschools and colleges children learn as much as they can, to win the competition to obtain good quality schools.

On the other hand, as they are busy to enter the schools and study individually with their own tutors, there are problems. They become selfish. They become careless and don’t help others a lot if it is about studies. There will be no co-operations for them. Then, why are there companies for many people to work in? each of them are clever, however, there are weak parts and strong parts for each person. To co-operate is to improve this part. People talk and listen to what others thinking of and learn. That could also be a great opportunity to learn instead of learning alone with one teacher.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with that children should be taught to co-operate rather than compete. Nobody is perfect. People learn together, work together to develop each other. therefore, I want parents and teachers to educate children concentrating on co-operation, not compete and ranking them.

Nowadays, there are several channels to get news, such as radio, TV, newspaper and internet. I think internet is the best among these. In my essay, I am going to explain why.

Since its invention, the Internet has been keeping booming as a prospective industry. Not only because it is a combination of texts, audios and videos, but also due to its convinience. It has threatened the domination of spreading news of the traditional media, and, I would say, is about to take control.

We can find everything we want on internet – latest news, books, songs, movies, cartoons… whatever. With radio, we can merely hear. Compared with newspaper, radio and TV can provide the lastest information. For instance, it was immediately availalbe of the breaking news of the Americans’ attacking on Iraq, as well as that the Twin Towers of New York were destroyed on September 11, 2001. __ However, we just cannot carry TV 24/7.

Internet is a convinient way of getting information, as long as your mobile phone is connected or you possess a laptop. When I am on a vehicle, I usually have my cellphone connected to internet, then browse what happend in the past few hours, or log in MSN to begin a conversation with my friends.

Some people say job satisfaction is more important than job security, while others believe that having a permanent job is better than enjoying the job. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Everybody has to work. The question is: which is more important in work, the job security or the job satisfaction? Some people think the job security is more important than job satisfaction, but others believe the opposite. In my view, both job security and satisfaction are important.

We all need a secure job. If we have a stable job, we can make a lot of money. Then we can buy big houses and expensive cars, and can travel all around the world. This will make our life more wonderful. If we have a stable job, we will not have to worry about losing our job. So we do not have to spend time looking for jobs. This means we can have more time to stay together with our family.

However, it is also important to have an interesting job. If we have an interesting job, we can do our job well. Then we can get happiness from our job. If we are not interested in what we do, we can never succeed no matter how stable our job is. My uncle James is a good example. He is a middle school teacher, which is a very stable job. However, he is not really interested in teaching. As a result, he is not very successful even at his fifties.

In conclusion, I think it is the best that we have a secure and satisfying job, because this kind of job helps us to make our living and have time to stay together with our family, and at the same time succeed in our career. I wish everybody could get such a job.

题目:Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

范文:

People have different views about how much choice students should have with regard to what they can study at university. While some argue that it would be better for students to be forced into certain key subject areas, I believe that everyone should be able to study the course of their choice.

There are various reasons why people believe that universities should only offer subjects that will be useful in the future. They may assert that university courses like medicine, engineering and information technology are more likely to be beneficial than certain art degrees. From a personal perspective, it can be argued that these courses provide more job opportunities, career progression, better salaries, and therefore an improved quality of life for students who take them. On the societal level, by forcing people to choose particular university subjects, governments can ensure that any knowledge and skill gaps in the economy are covered. Finally, a focus on technology in higher education could lead to new inventions, economic growth, and greater future prosperity.

In spite of these arguments, I believe that university students should be free to choose their preferred areas of study. In my opinion, society will benefit more if our students are passionate about what they are learning. Besides, nobody can really predict which areas of knowledge will be most useful to society in the future, and it may be that employers begin to value creative thinking skills above practical or technical skills. If this were the case, perhaps we would need more students of art, history and philosophy than of science or technology.

In conclusion, although it might seem sensible for universities to focus only on the most useful subjects, I personally prefer the current system in which people have the right to study whatever they like.

1. Do you have a hobby?

Yes, I’m interested in stamp collecting. I have been collecting stamps for two years. I regularly spend time on my collection, about two hours every week. This is mainly over weekends, as I do not have time during the week.

2. Why have you chosen this hobby?

Stamps provide rich knowledge. For example, the stamps from other countries often tell something about the countries and their people.

3. Why have you chosen this hobby?

The hobby provides fun as well as knowledge. First of all, when you collect stamps, you are able to learn more about the world, and you will not be bored easily. What I mean to say is that you can get stamps from every country in the world, and the stamps from other countries often tell something about the countries and their people. Another reason is that you are able to meet new friends through your hobby. If you have a common interest with someone else, then you can discuss your collections together for many hours and it’s easy for both of you to become friends. One more thing, the hobby will teach you some self-discipline and how to be very systematic. That is to say, you have to arrange your collections regularly, which cultivates your habit of being systematic.

4. What are good hobbies, and what are bad hobbies?

In my opinion, good hobbies are those that give you the opportunity to develop a new skill. For example, collecting stamps teaches you how to be systematic. Bad hobbies, on the other hand, may make you lose the opportunity. For example, TV and computer games will waste a lot of your time, so you don’t have time and energy to do develop other skills.

Task:Some people think international cooperation has brought benefits to world environment protection, while some people think more benefits have been brought to international business. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

参考范文:

International cooperation is now everywhere: the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the car we drive - all may be the effects of international cooperation. Yet when it comes to issue of which of the two, the environmental protection or the world business, benefits more from international cooperation, opinions vary from one individual to another.

Needless to say, international cooperation has helped a great deal in environmental protection. When dealing with some environmental issues like global warming, we need the joint effort of all countries across the world. Even in face of local issues, the new technology from other countries can be very helpful. When developing the high-speed train in China, for example, a technology called “air cleaner” from Russia is used, which has helped to reduce significantly the air pollution along the railway.

International cooperation has greatly expanded the world business as well. International cooperation can not only increase the productivity but also bring down the costs. It is because of international cooperation that American customers can enjoy the high-quality commodities from China at low prices and vice versa. Meanwhile, if countries work together, they can make their products and services more agreeable to the local people, which in turn will create more markets. For example, Microsoft products are all originally in English and were met with cold eyes 20 years ago when they entered China. It was only after Microsoft cooperated with Chinese programmers and converted the language to Chinese that its products have been widely accepted in China.

It is hard, though, to determine which has benefited more from international cooperation. My immediate response would be that world business is the greater beneficiary. After all, I have seen with my own eyes how the expanded world business as a result of the international cooperation has changed my life. Of course, I am fully aware as well that our environment is becoming better and better thanks to the international cooperation.

题目:More and more people are migrating to cities in search of a better life, but city life can be extremely difficult. Explain some of the difficulties of living in a city. How can governments make urban life better for everyone?

范文:

Cities are often seen as places of opportunity, but there are also some major drawbacks of living in a large metropolis. In my opinion, governments could do much more to improve city life for the average inhabitant.

The main problem for anyone who hopes to migrate to a large city is that the cost of living is likely to be much higher than it is in a small town or village. Inhabitants of cities have to pay higher prices for housing, transport, and even food. Another issue is that urban areas tend to suffer from social problems such as high crime and poverty rates in comparison with rural areas. Furthermore, the air quality in cities is often poor, due to pollution from traffic, and the streets and public transport systems are usually overcrowded. As a result, city life can be unhealthy and stressful.

However, there are various steps that governments could take to tackle these problems. Firstly, they could invest money in the building of affordable or social housing to reduce the cost of living. Secondly, politicians have the power to ban vehicles from city centres and promote the use of cleaner public transport, which would help to reduce both air pollution and traffic congestion. In London, for example, the introduction of a congestion charge for drivers has helped to curb the traffic problem. A third option would be to develop provincial towns and rural areas, by moving industry and jobs to those regions, in order to reduce the pressure on major cities.

In conclusion, governments could certainly implement a range of measures to enhance the quality of life for all city residents.

题目:The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

范文:

It is true that many older people believe in traditional values that often seem incompatible with the needs of younger people. While I agree that some traditional ideas are outdated, I believe that others are still useful and should not be forgotten.

On the one hand, many of the ideas that elderly people have about life are becoming less relevant for younger people. In the past, for example, people were advised to learn a profession and find a secure job for life, but today’s workers expect much more variety and diversity from their careers. At the same time, the ‘rules’ around relationships are being eroded as young adults make their own choices about who and when to marry. But perhaps the greatest disparity between the generations can be seen in their attitudes towards gender roles. The traditional roles of men and women, as breadwinners and housewives, are no longer accepted as necessary or appropriate by most younger people.

On the other hand, some traditional views and values are certainly applicable to the modern world. For example, older generations attach great importance to working hard, doing one’s best, and taking pride in one’s work, and these behaviours can surely benefit young people as they enter today’s competitive job market. Other characteristics that are perhaps seen as traditional are politeness and good manners. In our globalised world, young adults can expect to come into contact with people from a huge variety of backgrounds, and it is more important than ever to treat others with respect. Finally, I believe that young people would lead happier lives if they had a more ‘old-fashioned’ sense of community and neighbourliness.

In conclusion, although the views of older people may sometimes seem unhelpful in today’s world, we should not dismiss all traditional ideas as irrelevant.

Housing problems are closely related to people’s overall well-being. However, experience tells us that individuals and private corporations tend to act in their own short-term economic and political interest, not on behalf of the public at large. For this reason, and because housing problems are generally large in scale, I agree that only government can ensure citizens will not have no abode to live in.

With the rapid development of industry and great increase in employment, more people are swarming into cities. Accommodations have become ever difficult, causing inconvenience to people’s work and life. For this, There are some methods that government can use to solve this problem. Firstly, the government can appeal to property developers to establish more and more apartments in the suburbs. The fresh air and clean water will attract some people to move to the other side to go. More importantly, the suburban house prices will be much cheaper than the city. Secondly, the government can control prices. If the property prices are too high, many people can not afford a deposit and a mortgage. Last but not least, the government can provide state or council housing. This help people who can not afford to buy their own house.

By contrast, neither property developers nor other organizations are willing or able to voluntarily make the short-term sacrifices necessary to tackle this problem. Only the government holds the regulatory and enforcement power to impose the necessary standards and to ensure that we settle the matter.

In the final analysis, only the authority and scope of power that a government possesses can ensure the attainment of agreed-upon housing problems solving goals. Because individuals are unable and businesses are by nature unwilling to assume this responsibility, only government can do so.

Although we can easily acquire knowledge from modern media like television and internet,I think it is not enough to prove that the teachers will lose their position in the future. Indeed, people can absorb a lot of knowledges from television and example ,some students now can watch many teaching videos on television and internet and they do not need to get these knowledge from modern software can even help students to make a suitable study is obvious that students do not need to listen to the fixed content in the classroom. However, are all students have the chance to get the knowledge that they want from television and internet? Many poor students cannot afford the cost of television or internet and some elders do not know how to use these various of knowledge from teacher is the best way for learning needs time to make the student cannot learn the new course if the courseware has not completed by the teacher. Even if television and internet can meet some needs of students but they cannot completely perform the effects of the fact, children also need to learn the method of communication and how to become a good this aspect, teachers play an important role during the learning computer cannot completely achieve the teaching goal.
