Dear Lily,

How are you getting on recently? Maybe you have known the good news, but I still want to tell you that Beijing has been the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games. We were so excited that we jumped up. We laughed and laughed. We talked with everyone, even with strangers. We all want to do something for the 2008 Olympic Games.

In order to make Beijing more beautiful, we are going to plant some trees in the West Lake this Saturday. We are happy to have a chance to show our hearts.

By the way, would you like to see a film with me tomorrow?A new film is on at the Capital Cinema. If you will, please call me between 6:00 and 9:00 in the evening. OK?

Best wishes.

Guangzhou Zoo is the largest one in our city.

The ticket for an adult is 80 yuan . The children over m in height can pay only half of it, and the ones under m can enter the zoo for free. The zoo opens from 9:00 am to 4:00pm on weekdays and from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm on weekends.

By the way, while visiting the zoo, you'd better not feed the animals with the food you take.

And don't get too close to or even touch the animals. That would be very dangerous. Please keep the zoo clean as well.

Wish you a good time!

One rainy day, Li Li went home by taxi. In the car she found (that) the driver was learning English. He said to Li Li: "I was weak in English when I was at school. Now I’m working hard at it to help with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games."

I think I should learn from the driver. English is very important to us because it is widely used all over the world. As a student, I’ll do my best to learn English well at school. And I’m going to speak English as much as possible to show support for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Dear David,

I'm very glad to hear from you and thank you very much for your care. Now we all have safe places to live, enough to eat and clean water to drink. Don't worry about us.

All of us have gone back to school. Most of us go to local tent schools. Some have gone to other parts of China to go to school. Many volunteers like you came to our schools to stay with us. We sing and play games together. They also teach us English.

Best wishes!

Chinese food is colorful, varied, delicious, and nutritious. Chinese people cares not only about the taste of the food, but also about its color and smell. Food in different places has different flavors. Beijing food is quite oily and salty; Shanghai food is sweet and light; Sichuan food is spicy and hot; and Cantonese food is fresh and tender. What's more, there are some popular local snacks. For example, Beijing Roast Duck has a good reputation for its tender meat, while the steam buns in Shanghai are well known for their juicy ingredients.

Li Xiaohu spent too much time playing computer games and he fell behind others. As a close friend of his, I must do something to help him.

First, I must tell him that playing computer games too much is bad for his health, especially for his eyes. So he must give it up. I can play more sports with him after school. Maybe he will become more interested in sports than computer games.

And then I'll ask him to concentrate more on his study. Of course, I will try my best to help him with all his subjects. I think I can do it in many fun ways and let him find much fun in studying.

At the same time, I'll ask both his parents and our teachers to help him, too. If I try these, I'm sure he will make great progress soon.

Dear parents,

How are you? I hope you are all well. It has been four weeks since I left home. Now I'm writing to tell you something about our school life. How to deal with telecom fraud

These days telecom fraud occurs frequently by means of telephones, text messages, the internet or false information with the purpose of cheating people of their money, which has caused great property loss to some people. The cheat usually asks you to remit money or transfer accounts. The following are some measures which, I think, may be of some help to you in preventing telecom fraud.

First ,don't believe in the cheat. Whatever they say, don't be fooled by them. Second, keep your personal information from others especially your ID number ; otherwise you will easily fall to victim. Last but not the least, remember the saying“ Money doesn't grow on tree. ” and be cautious about calls or short messages from strangers.

To conclude, if we raise awareness of self -protection, the cheats will never get anything.

Many of the world's languages and culture are dying out. Give possible reasons and your recommendations.

Nowadays, international communication has become more and more important, people prefer to communicate in languages, such as English, Arabic and Chinese. But many of the world's languages and culture are dying out. In this essay we will examine the problem of languages and culture dying and the solutions, such as writing books and increasing language population levels.

Firstly, as the technology improves, people around the world are relying more and more on electronic devices to communicate with each other. While this trend is helping the major culture, it is having a harmful effect on the minor culture that could be swallowed up by the major culture.

Secondly, some of the world's languages are not being learned widely by children or used in daily commerce. In some boarding schools, children were punished for speaking their parent's language.

Despite the desires of language and culture activists, the outlook is somewhat grim. People already realize this problem exists and are trying to solve it.

For one solution, people can record the culture and languages on books or tapes, making sure our descendants can learn or use them in the future.

The second solution is increasing the language population levels. Governments can make some policies, like encouragement for people to learn and teach the languages facing extinction, no matter whether the language is used in daily commerce or not. By trying to keep them alive, at least they have a future as second languages.

The important thing is to learn the elder's tongue and culture before it's too late. Otherwise we will lose them.
