The majority of sales in Bob's store come from DVDs, with exactly 60%.

DVDs account for three fifths of the total sales.

The percentage of PC games sold is exactly 20%.

Fifteen percent of items sold in the store are CDs.

There is merely 5% of the total revenue generated by selling posters.

For the sales of posters, only 5% contributes to the turnover(营业额).

I’d like to describe a foreign teacher of mine, Bob. He is tall and strong, with strong muscles. He is a typical American—confident and humorous. He is a very attractive man.

A lot of my classmates liked his class very much. I also chose his course in the second year of my university. At first, I didn’t feel there was anything special about him. Later, I found that he really had the ability to make his class interesting because he was so funny and good at telling jokes. He was also creative. He had so many new ways for us to practice our English.

After class, I like talking with him in both Chinese and English because he also learned some Chinese. Through communicating with him, I learned a lot about western culture.

I need to thank him. Because of him, I feel that English is actually a fun subject to learn. My interest in English grew and now I’m still interested in learning language.

In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

It is quite common these days for young people in many countries to have a break form studying after graduating from high school. The trend is not restricted to rich students who have the money to travel, but is also evident among poorer students who choose to work and become economically independent for a period of time.

The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge ad experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or traveling to other places, have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on. They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life.

However, there are certainly dangers in taking time off at that important age. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They may think that it is better to continue in a particular job, or to do something completely different from a university overall, I think this is less likely today, when academic qualifications are essential for getting a reasonable career.

My view is that young people should be encouraged to broaden their horizons. That is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why. Students with such a perspective are usually the most effective and motivated ones and taking a year off may be the best way to gain this.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in therelationship between equality and personal people believe that individuals can achieve more inegalitarian societies. Others believe that high levels of personal achievement are possible only if individuals are free to succeed or fail according to their individual is your view of the relationship between equality and personal success?

In my opinion, an egalitarian society is one in which everyone has the same rights and the same opportunities. I completely agree that people can achieve more in this kind of society.

Education is an important factor with regard to personal success in life. I believe that all children should have access to free schooling, and higher education should be either free or affordable for all those who chose to pursue a university degree. In a society without free schooling or affordable higher education, only children and young adults from wealthier families would have access to the best learning opportunities, and they would therefore be better prepared for the job market. This kind of inequality would ensure the success of some but harm the prospects of others.

I would argue that equal rights and opportunities are not in conflict with people's freedom to succeed or fail. In other words, equality does not mean that people lose their motivation to succeed, or that they are not allowed to fail. On the contrary, I believe that most people would feel more motivated to work hard and reach their potential if they thought that they lived in a fair society. Those who did not make the same effort would know that they had wasted their opportunity. Inequality, on the other hand, would be more likely to demotivate people because they would know that the odds of success were stacked in favour of those from privileged backgrounds.

In conclusion, it seems to me that there is a positive relationship between equality and personal success.

Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?

lt is no doubt true that the majority of people would like tobe happy in their the personal nature of happiness makes it difficult to describe, there do seem to besome common needs that we all share with regard to experiencing or achieving happiness.

Happiness is difficult to define because it means something different to each individual person. Nobody can fully understand or experience another person's feelings, and we all have our own particular passions from which we take pleasure. Some people, for example, derive a sense of satisfaction from earning money or achieving success, whereas for others, health and family are much more important. At the same time, a range of other feelings, from excitement to peacefulness, may be associated with the idea of happiness, and the same person may therefore feel happy in a variety of different ways.

Although it seems almost impossible to give a precise definition of happiness, most people would agree that there are some basic preconditions to achieving it. Firstly, it is hardfor a person to be happy if he or she does not have a safe place to live and enough food to eat. Our basic survival needs must surely be met before we can lead a pleasant , the greatest joy in life is usually found in shared experiences with family and friends, and it is rare to find a person who is content to live in complete isolation. Other key factors could be individual freedom and a sense of purpose in life.

ln conclusion, happiness is difficult to define because it is particular to each individual, but l believe that our basic needs for shelter, food and company need to be fulfilled before we can experience it.

Explain some of the ways in which humans are damagingthe environment. What can governments do to addressthese problems? What can individual people do?

Humans are responsible for a variety of environmental problems, but we can also take steps to reduce the damage that we are causing to the planet. This essay will discuss environmental problems and the measures that governments and individuals can take to address these problems.

Two of the biggest threats to the environment are air pollution and waste. Gas emissions from factories and exhaust fumes from vehicles lead to global warming, which may have a devastating effect on the planet in the future. As the human population increases, we are also producing ever greater quantities of waste, which contaminates the earth and pollutes rivers and oceans.

Governments could certainly make more effort to reduce air pollution. They could introduce laws to limit emissions from factories or to force companies to use renewable energy from solar, wind or water power. They could also impose 'green taxes' on drivers and airline companies. In this way, people would be encouraged to use public transport and to take fewer flights abroad, therefore reducing emissions.

Individuals should also take responsibility for the impact they have on the environment. They can take public transport rather than driving, choose products with less packaging, and recycle as much as possible. Most supermarkets now provide reusable bags for shoppers as well as 'banks' for recycling glass, plastic and paper in their car parks. By reusing and recycling, we can help to reduce waste.

In conclusion, both national governments and individuals must play their part in looking after the environment.

Talk about learning English. You should say:

When and where you began studying English.

What the most interesting thing in an English class is.

What the most effective way of learning English is.

What difficulties you have when learning English.

What the advantages of learning English are.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you. I am sure you will find my talk interesting and informative.

a) I have studied English on a full-time basis for a period of about six months.

b) I am sure as a native English speaker you will not be able to understand my experiences.

a) I studied English at a private English school called Jiahua in the city of Shenyang.

b) That is to say, it is a relatively small school with a limited number of students.

a) There are many difficulties when studying English.

b) For example, you have to build a new vocabulary, and the pronunciation of many of these words is completely foreign to you.

There are several advantages to studying English. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.

a) First of all, you are developing yourself as a person. There is a saying that “knowledge is power”.

b) What I mean to say is that if you are able to speak a second language you have the power to do more things.

a) Secondly, it is a requirement at most universities abroad that you have to have a working knowledge of English.

b) For instance, I am studying ‘English For Academic Purposes’, also known as EAP, which will enable me to attend classes held in English at a university.

a) Lastly, English is the most widely used language worldwide.

b) That is to say, if you know English you have access too much more information through books and the Internet than a person who does not know English.

7. So, those were some of my thoughts on studying English.

Although more and more people read news on the Internet,

newspapers remain the main source of news for the majority of people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people think traveling abroad is necessary while others think that is not necessary because TV and the internet can give the same information.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.()

Some people think computers and the Internet are more important in child’s education. Others believe that schools and teachers are essential for children to learn.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.()

很多同学一看到考广告,嘴角一丝微笑,马上就会开始围绕着“广告的利弊”展开,写到冲动消费啊,写到对孩子的引诱啊等等;

一类是Modal Answer,所谓考官范文,也就是大家常常看到的“This modal has been prepared by an examiner as an example of a very good answer ”.

第一类考官范文,一般大家可以理解为满分范文,没有满分也在8以上;

Modal Answer
