As to spelling, I never copied a new work again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain “a sense of English language”. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are “good English” and which are not.

Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance. In the past seven years I spent at least an hour on English each day. I believe this is an important reason why I am able to make progress in learning English.

课堂上还有小活动，不过每节课都不一样，有时候是翻图片得分，有时候是吹瓶子上的扑克，还有时候是白板上画的猫抓老鼠……总而言之，花样层出不穷。

这个英语班每个班不超过十名学生，是因为有的同学不来了，我才插班进来，加上我才九名学生。每个星期上两次课，周四17：00——18：30；周六18：30——20：30。课前课后还有一对一的检查与辅导，没课的日子还会有电话辅导。老师还会给我们发背书奖卡和纪律奖卡，奖卡可以换一些小奖品，如英语本、铅芯等。

加特英语的目标是让学生在听、说、读、写、唱及情景故事的趣味课堂教学中做到学以致用，彻底告别哑巴英语，提高学生的综合能力。

活动开始了，首先是通过一个小短片让我们知道了万圣节的由来：万圣节最早是爱尔兰人驱赶鬼神的节日，又叫“夏之尽头”。但信奉神的教皇不同意了，便把11月1日订为跪拜鬼神的节日，但10月31日晚要驱赶鬼神的呀，于是正式把“夏之尽头”改为“Hlloween(万圣节)”。据说这一天在西方国家，孩子们都会穿上精灵古怪的衣服提着南瓜灯挨家挨户讨糖吃。
