要想提高阅读能力，在平时应当有意识地进行阅读训练。在训练中，主要从词汇和阅读解题方法入手。

词汇：在阅读过程中，不可避免地会碰到不认识的单词，考试中又不允许查词典，有些不认识的单词对文章的理解影响不大，可以忽略。但有些不认识的单词则会影响阅读者对文章理解的正确性。在这种情况下，必需猜测词的含义，这就需要利用猜词的技巧了。最基本的猜词技巧有两种：一是根据构词法的规则猜;另一种猜词的技巧是根据上下文，运用已有的知识来分析和推断该词的含义。

解题方法：

1)先看文章后做题。主要针对简单易懂的文章，时间又较充裕的情况;

二、完型填空

三、翻译

重点分析段落的结构与含义，然后再进行翻译，最后再进行检查。考生应在平常的学习中注重累积词汇及其用法，并研读翻译技巧用书，学习翻译方法。

四、写作

With the rapid development of our national economy and the rapid increase in our wealth, some people in China have developed a very bad habit of extravagance and waste. As far as I am concerned, I strongly object to the bad practice of extravagance and waste. I firmly support the 'clear our plate' campaign and will try my best to practice clearing our plate in every possible way.
