No words， no language is unthinkable.xxx According to the regulation of xxxEnglish course standardxxx， the junior middle school graduates will learn how to use 3000 words and 400-500 idioms or fixed collocation. But quite part of students' vocabulary is far short of the requirements， make they learn English interest and motivation directly affected. 1 调整教学方法

学生的学习兴趣与教师的教学方法有密切的关系，因此，在英语教学中，首先要改进和探索词汇教学的方法。

要过好语音关。 要求学生把每一个音标发准确，尤其对于初学者，不能急于求成，每节课当中，保证每一位学生都有开口的机会。为了唤起学生学习语音的兴趣，教师可以创设一些情境以辅助教学效果。例如

（1）激励性教学。争先好胜、表现欲强是初中学生的特点。根据这一特点，课堂上教师如果用组织竞赛的方式进行语音教学，这样不仅使竞赛活动成为活跃课堂气氛的重要手段，而且有助于培养学生学习英语的兴趣。学生在初始阶段注意力特别集中，人人都想表演一下自己的记忆力，都想为自己的小组尽一份力。这样既提高了课堂教学效果，又培养了大家的集体主义精神和竞争意识。因此采用激励的方法教学，效果最佳。

（2）链条式教学。在学字母时，就在每一个字母后面注上音标，让学生感知音形，同时特别要求学生熟练掌握五个元音字母在单词中的准确读音及规则。然后引导学生注意元音字母组合、辅音字母组合，及一些特殊字母组合的发音。在此基础上，慢慢增加单词的长度和难度，音形结合，温故知新，新旧联系比较，不断加深印象，养成良好的拼读习惯。这样不仅帮助学生逐步解决了发音问题，而且还培养了学生自觉学习单词的能力，更为今后词汇的积累奠定了良好的基础。

掌握一定数量的英语单词。英语“四位一体”教学法认为，我们不能笼统地反对死记硬背，必要的记忆和背诵有助于培养学生的学习能力。要让单词记得快、记得准、记得牢，必须把机械记忆与理解记忆结合起来。机械记忆就是机械重复、反复记忆。在初级阶段，学生只能机械记忆。因为，他所学的词汇量和英语知识有限，无法进行更多的归纳和联想。但是几乎每个学生都认为死记硬背很是枯燥乏味。在不断的教学实践中，我总结了一些帮助学生背诵的方法。

（1）瞬时记忆法。 在教学单词时，先让学生仔细听，老师范读。学生注意听老师的发音，并在心里跟着默读，教师一边读一边在黑板上板书出所读的单词， ，同时在板书单词时用彩色粉笔标出该词的字母组合，并重复几遍字母组合的发音，然后教师领着学生读几遍， 并说出所学单词的意思，最后要求学生在熟悉每个单词读音的基础上能准确判断出每个单词的中文含义。

每教完一个单词，给十秒钟时间让学生自已背诵。要求是音读准，声音响亮，反复拼读，谁先背会，谁先举手，时间没到，嘴巴不停。十秒钟后，任意抽取一个小组当场检测，以竞赛的方式进行。这样既能为学生学好语音、语调打好基础，又能很好地培养学生的听的能力，切忌用汉语来代替单词的读音，避免今后学生音读不准，词记不住。

（2）循序渐进法。英语词汇教学是一个循序渐进的过程。教学中不但要注重词汇积累的数量，更应注重记忆的效率，做到逐层加深。每天十个单词的记忆，不断循环反复，形成习惯，使同学们感觉不到背诵是一件枯燥又痛苦的事。通过每天早晨的齐读，达到温故而知新的效果。

为了使单词更鲜活，使同学们记忆单词的时间越长，我们还可以把单词放在句子，甚至文章当中来加以记忆。句子是由词组成的，我们记忆单词就是为了更好的使用句子。实践经验证明，孤立地记忆单词容易遗忘，必须把单词放在句子里，根据上下文了解其意义和用法，这样记忆的单词才记得快、记得准、记得牢，才算的上真正掌握了这个单词。另外仅记单词也是不够的，应把词扩展为短语、句型，甚至精彩的段落或短文。以句子为单位记忆单词还可以帮助我们把握单词的用法和不同的形式，发展英语思维能力和英语应用能力。孤立地记单词徒劳无益。如果我们把词汇的学习和语境联系起来，记的不是单个的单词而是整个句子，通过上下文甚至是整篇文章在一起，有利于推动词汇知识的内化和吸收。

注重词汇的学习方法。学生记忆词汇的目的就是扩大词汇量，为阅读英语和运用英语打下基础。在死记硬背的基础上积累一定词汇之后，应该运用不同的方法巧妙地扩大词汇量。以下几种方法不妨试一试。

（1）构词法。①名词+y构成形容词，如wind（n）+ywindy（adj）；②动词+er构成名词，如teach（v）+erteacher（n）；③形容词+ly构成副词，如slow（adj）+lyslowly（adv）；④在词上加前缀或后缀，构成新词，如writerewrite，easyuneasy；⑤把两个或两个以上的合成一个词，如black+boardblackboard，ten+year+oldten-year-old。

（2）比较法。比较各词之间的音形义的异同。①同音异义词， sun-son，where-wear； ②音形相同而意义不同的词， light（灯），light（轻的）和light（淡色的）；③词形相同而读音不同、意义不同，present/’preznt/adj目前的、现存的，n.礼物，present/pri’zent/v.介绍、出席。

（3）分类法。如表示动物一类的词窜在一起；dog，cat，pig，horse，sheep，bear，cow，tiger，elephant等；有关人的词：boy，girl，man，woman，father，mother，son，daughter，teacher，doctor，driver；其它如文具、水果、星期、季节、月份等都可以分类。

（4）辨析法。对同义词或词组进行辨析，联系起来进行记忆，如look（有意识地看），see（无意中看见），watch（强调所看对象发出的动作）；listen（to）（有意识地听），hear（无意中听见）等。

（5）对比法。①与反义词作对比进行记忆，如young-old，empty-full，bring-take，borrow-lend；②与对称词作对比进行记忆，如man-woman，walk-run，read-write等。

2 调整教学心态

初中英语词汇教学是一个循序渐进的过程，教学中不但要注重词汇积累的数量，更应注重记忆的效率，做到逐层加深，建立一套记忆与应用，学习与提高的词汇记忆的方式。除此之外，老师要时刻关注学生对词汇掌握的情况，随时关心识记词汇效率差的学生，多利用课余时间进行指导、帮助和辅导。教师的耐心细致会无形中增强学生的信心，切不可急躁，要遵循基本的记忆规律。

人的大脑是一个记忆的宝库。英文学习中的单词、短语和句子，甚至文章的内容都是通过记忆完成的。从“记”到“忆”是有个过程的，这其中包括了识记、保持、再认和回忆。有很多人在学习英语的过程中，只注重了学习当时的记忆效果，孰不知，要想做好学习的记忆工作，是要下一番工夫的，单纯的注重当时的记忆效果，而忽视了后期的保持和再认同样是达不到良好的效果的。同时人们在学习中的遗忘是有规律的，遗忘的进程不是均衡的，不是固定的一天丢掉几个，转天又丢几个的，而是在记忆的最初阶段遗忘的速度很快，后来就逐渐减慢了，到了相当长的时候后，几乎就不再遗忘了，这就是遗忘的发展规律，即“先快后慢”的原则。所以我们学得的知识在一天后，如不抓紧复习，就只剩下原来的25%，随着时间的推移，遗忘的速度减慢，遗忘的数量也就减少。

基于以上推论，在一定程度上，教师的态度直接影响学生学习的效果，所以务必保持积极耐心的态度，尽量保持微笑教学。

3 量变达到质变，教学相长

学生学习英语，感到最困难的是怎样把词汇记得快、记得多、记得牢。一方面，记忆词汇是一个重要的环节，教师要把记忆词汇的方法教给学生；二方面，又要想方设法调动学生的主观能动性，把所学的知识融会贯通，更好地记忆。然而，记忆是有时效性的。在最初识记后的短时间内遗忘发展最快，以后则缓慢递减。因此，对学生学过的词汇要及时复习，反复通过听说读写等各种形式加深学生对词汇的进一步理解，巩固记忆，灵活运用。复习巩固，增强记忆词汇的方法多种多样，如：从音形义三方面对比新旧单词异同；学习新课或新单元的词汇时复习上一课或上一单元的词汇；期中、期末再复习所学的词汇，多次循环；对学过的词汇进行归类，学生的词汇量丰富了，学英语的自信心也就增强了，反过来，还有助于教师的教。

综上所述，形式多种多样的词汇记忆与教学，是激发学生学习动机，提高学习兴趣，增强自信心的有效手段，有助于开拓学生的创造性思维。“无论哪种目标语，词汇在所有语言教学中都是重要因素。”因此，重视词汇教学，努力改进教学方法，帮助学生积累一定的词汇量，调整教学心态，才能帮助学生提高学习和运用词汇的能力，才能收到较好的教学效益。

对很多初中生来说，在英语学习中，词汇积累是个大难题。13至15岁的少年，母语思维能力已经比较完善，这个时候要学另一种语言，不可避免地会受到母语思维的影响。

文化学习最能体现异国风情，其次是语法，但在词汇方面就不同了，很多学生都习惯认为英汉词汇意义是“一对一”或者“一对多”的情况，且我们的英语教材中给出的词汇、词义往往也是一对一或者是一对多的。这种以含义与词汇“一一配对”的词汇表，从小学教材到大学教材，已成稳定模式，造成了很多学生误认为英汉词汇之间是“全等关系”，从而在学习和应用中四处碰壁。

建立在这样的误解基础上，英语词汇学习给学生留下的印象就是“难记、难应用、难理解”，造成了学生学习英语时心理上的障碍和困境。

笔者在教学的过程中，和很多老师一样，遇到很多因为中英文词汇意义范畴不同导致的教学困境。在本文中，笔者对中英文词汇意义范畴差别引起的英语学习的困难加以归纳总结，问题的症结加以剖析。具体阐述如下：

一、汉英语词汇意义范畴不同导致词汇拼写识记的障碍

英语是拼音文字，并非汉语中的会意文字，能讲熟练运用英文的人才更方便学习英语文字。且汉语词汇构成方式与英语的不同，单纯词所占的比例有限，只有大约22%的比例，复合词约占到汉语词汇的77%。英语则相反，现代英语的词汇据Dupuy统计，单纯词约占45%，复合词约占25%，派生词约占24%。

汉语单字的组词功能强大，比如“风”，汉语中有关于风的词都跟“风”这个字有关系。台风，飓风，龙卷风，微风，这几个词都跟“风”字有关系，理解记忆起来都不会很痛苦。但是英文中，这几种“风”是不折不扣的几个完全不相干的词（typhoon， furicano，tornado， breeze），而且还和“wind”的拼写和读音没有相似之处，同样是“风”，能表示的词义范畴却大不相同。

再看一组关于肉的词汇，在汉语中，只要认识“肉”字，至少能知道“猪肉、牛肉、羊肉、鸡肉”等等词汇与我们的肉食相关。但在英语中就不同了，“肉”在英文中叫“meat”， 而“猪肉”却毫不客气地叫“pork”，“牛肉是“beef”，“羊肉”却又叫“mutton”，“鸡肉”叫“chicken”，都与meat的拼写和读音没有关系。

所幸英语词汇的学习还有章可循。

英语中的复合词相对来说要简单些，是由两个或多个单纯词按一定规则汇合成的，意义多半离不开这两个或几个词，所以掌握了一定量的单纯词，复合词的习得难度就很低了。还有一类派生词，它们的构词要素为词根、词缀。英语派生词的词缀和词根都是有特定的语言意义或者语法意义的，基本上通过词缀和词根就应能知道词的大概意思。

所以在教、学英语词汇时，我们可以遵循以下两个规则：

1.注意常用词的习得，尽量避开生僻词和怪词，注意词义的归类，用“vocabulary tree”来给学生形成意义上的分类。

2.掌握词根、词缀，对同根词进行归类和总结，通过了解词汇来源猜测词汇的语用环境。虽然英语的词汇量较大，但是有的放矢必定使教学事半功倍。

二、中英文词汇意义范畴的不同导致的语法学习的障碍

汉语是独立语，词的内部结构比较稳定，基本上没有大的变化，只是通过词语排列的不同顺序来表达句子意义。而英语是屈折语，它有如下的特点：有丰富的词形变化，词与词之间的关系主要靠这种词形变化来表示；一种词尾可以表示几种不同的语法意义；词尾和词干或词根结合十分紧密，脱离了词尾，词根一般不能独立存在。

以上的特点就导致了很多以中文为母语的初中生在学习英语词汇时非常难以适应，好不容易背出来单词，应用时又是万千变幻。虽然变化是有规律的，但对初中学生来说，也加重了不少负担。所以，在教学过程中，要注意不断渗透词汇的各种语法变化形式，以让学生对变形词汇的掌握达到“熟能生巧”的境界。

当然，汉英语词汇本身的含义范畴的差别也导致了学生学习语法的一些困难，拿我们英语老师都知道的一个难点来举例：

在现在完成时中，如果句子的时间状语为for或since引导的短语时，句中谓语动词是不能用短暂性的动词的，必须要把短暂性动词变成延续性动词或者某种状态。因为for或since引导的时间状语表示的是从过去的某时间开始到现在为止的一段时间内，某种动作一直在进行。

例如：正：I have left Hong Kong with my parents.

误：I have left Hong Kong with my parents for 30 years.

这种情况下要换成I have been away from Hong Kong with my parents for 30 years.

关于如何把短暂性动词换成延续性的动词，很多教材上都是列了个表格以供学生对应着换用。但由于不理解，学生不得不死记硬背，才能加以运用。

其实要理解也不难，这主要是因为英语的语法和汉语语法不同引起的。在汉语中，不仅动词可以做谓语，形容词也可以做谓语，有的动词就兼有了瞬间动作和动作完成后保持的状态。而在英语中作谓语的必须是动词，形容词是绝对不可以作谓语的。这就导致了在现在完成时中，出现了需要表示“在一段时间之内延续”的情况时，需要把短暂性动词换成延续性动词，或者是表示状态的be动词加形容词、介词短语或者名词等系表结构。

仔细分析一下，短暂性变延续性有两个规则：

第一种，以结果代动作，让瞬间动作成为结果保存下来。

如：The young man have had the novel since he graduated from high school. 这句话里以买完变成“拥有”这一结果代替了瞬间动作买，不至于尴尬地让“the young man”从毕业到现在一直重复着买卖这个动作。

第二种，以系表结构表动作结束后保持的状态，来代替瞬间动作。

如：Mandee and Amanda have been married for 10 years.

这句话里，Mandee和 Amanda 不可能一直在做结婚这件事，但他们一定是处于已婚状态的。

类似的词汇意义范畴不同的还有不少，比如，“买”这个词，在中文中的意义和用法如下：

词性：动词。意义：用货币换取实物，购进。

例子：我买了一件新衣服。

解析：这句话里的“买”，不只是说明了货币换实物这个动作，还表示这件衣服的来源是通过购买的方式获得和拥有的。如：这本书是我新买的。

但是，在英文里，buy的意思就是指“买”这个动作的进行，并不说明买完后的拥有。

如：The car prices are low， it’s a good time to buy.

如果要表达“这辆车我已经买了两个月了”也必须换成相应的结果：I have had this car for 2 months.

再比如：“加入”这个词，在中文中作动词的意义和用法如下：添加进去，参与，参加。例句：我们国家已经加入世贸组织五年了。很明显，在这个句子里，“加入”不仅仅说的是“参加”那一瞬间的事，更是“参加后成为世贸组织成员五年”的意思。

而在英文中“join”这个词，就是指“加入”这个瞬间动作，加入完就处于“属于某个组织成员”的状态了。

如：China has become a member of WTO for 5 years.

China has been in WTO for 5 years.

这样一一细细分析下来，这一语法点就不需要死记硬背了，也不会转身就忘。在笔者的教学中这样的难点基本上都不能称之为难点，学生掌握情况一直很不错。

三、中英文词汇意义范畴的不同导致的文化学习困境

众所周知的，中英文词汇很多含义的涵盖度都不一样，有很多词的词义范畴是不能一一对应的。比如，cousin，aunt，uncle这些词和汉语里所指的人的范围都不是一样大的。Cousin指的是汉语里的表兄弟姐妹，姨兄弟姐妹，堂兄弟姐妹，等等。Aunt 是指父母的姐妹，以及父母兄弟的女性配偶。Uncle指的有父母的兄弟，以及父母姐妹的男性配偶。包括Grandparent，英文中爷爷奶奶姥姥姥爷全包括进去了，很明显词义所指的范畴要比中文的广很多。

而这样的现象一直被我们当做“文化差异“轻描淡写地一带而过。但是，在教学中我们不断因为遇到词义范畴不同，而导致学生难以理解，老师难以教授的困境。

最常见的就是我们教学中遇到的：一个汉语词汇对应多个英语词汇，或者一个英语词汇对应多个汉语词汇的用法。

比如“开“这个动词，在英文中对应的有很多个词：open（开门窗的时候用，如：open the door.）； turn on（开跟水电气相关的设备的时候用，如：turn on the light.）； come out（开花的时候用，如：Roses will come out soon.）；drive（开车的时候用，如：drive a car.）； run（表示开公司或者商店的时候用，如：run a new shop.）

再比如说“做”这个动词，也有不少的对应词：do （表示做，举例：do the hard work.）；make（做鬼脸或者制作某物时用，如：make a face.）；compose（做诗，例如：compose a poem.）； write （做文章的时候用，如write an article.）； play（做游戏，比如：play games.）

又比如说“花”这个词，它对应的英语中的动词和名词也不少，如：spend，cost，take，flower，bloom，等等。

当然，play 这个词在汉语中也对应了不少的汉语词汇，比如：踢足球（play football），打篮球（play basketball），打牌（play cards），弹钢琴（play the piano），播放音乐（play the music），捉弄别人（play tricks on sb.），起着至关重要的作用（play a key role in …）。

一些很难区分的单词词义间的差别，不妨用固定搭配、近义词和反义词来进行区分，方便学生快速地解决。

通过英汉词汇的对比，我们还发现有的词汇因为文化的差别会带了特殊的民族色彩。比如，在英语中，我们说“blue”是蓝色，也是指“心情不好，忧郁”的意思。I’m feeling blue.这个意思就是I am feeling bad.但在汉语里，蓝色是天空和大海的颜色，代表的是广袤无垠，是海纳百川的气度，所以，国内某品牌酒商用“蓝色”来指代“男人的情怀”，跟“心情不好”，跟“忧郁”根本不搭边。

“green”在中文中意思为绿色，象征着春天和生命，在英文中也有类似的用法。可是“green”还因为是美元的颜色，被赋予了更多的意义。比如，汉语中“眼红”为妒忌，而英语中“be green eyed”才是“眼红”，“green with envy”指的就是“妒忌”。

“dragon”在汉语中是皇权的象征，意指吉祥。但在英文中指的却是“恶龙，脾气暴躁的人”。

由于文化的不同，思维方式的不同，语言体系的不同，语法的不同，以及民风的不同，导致我们在积累英语词汇的时候遇到了不少的麻烦，但是，经过细致的学习和例举，我们不断地积累，最终也会解决这样的问题。

四、结语

教师在日常教学中必须高度重视学生的词汇积累，在教学中多想办法，才能帮助学生更好地攻克这一难关。但现在初中英语教学不强调学生对英语词汇词义的精确掌握，更多地强调学生的拼读能力，以及在情境中遣词造句的能力，却忽视了一针见血的点拨，让学生的词汇学习停留在感性认识阶段，造成了很多“百思不得其解”的学习困境，甚至让一部分孩子失去了学习英语的兴趣。

这是我们每一个初中阶段的英语老师不能不正视的问题。作为教师，我们要敏锐地发现教学中的难点，并从研究者的角度去总结归纳和剖析思考，以期逐渐摸索出让学生进行词汇积累时简单些的方式。
