Don’t allow your troubles to get the best of you. Instead, allow those troubles to make the best of you.

Don’t tire yourself out fighting against the challenges. Instead, find new energy by embracing1 those challenges and working through them to create real value.

Always remind yourself that discour-agement is nothing more than a response you’ve chosen. When you find that you’ve chosen to let it be, you can just as surely choose to let it go.

Replace discouragement with determin-ation. It is your life’s energy, and you can point it in whatever direction you choose. Your most powerful response is not based only on what has already happened. Your most powerful response also takes into account what you wish to make happen next.

Look forward, and envision in great detail the future you desire. Then gather all your energy, and step forward to make it be.

The time is short, but still passed away; although the spring and Autumn period is long, it is also in a hurry. In this long and short time, we should make full use of it, not to get lost in it.

Life is a smoke-free war that life has launched for us. However, the battlefield is a thick white mist, there is no smoke, but had a Olga fog, there is no warriors, but empty lonely and lonely. There is no direction, no marks, no commanders, some only their own perseverance, and have their own strength.

At that time, when I was just studying, I had no idea, I was very confused about my future life, I couldn't speak my favorite things and I couldn't talk about the job I wanted. The family asked, my life seemed to be in the mist, fog is overlapped around the side, no direction, no roads, no light, there is only a hazy mist, just bleak wind, just silent lonely and helpless, but more confused. Such a life, no one can bring me light, and no one can break the fog for me to illuminate the direction. If I want to be lost, I must rely on myself to rush out of the fog and rush to the top of life. Otherwise, it will always be immersed in the fog and can't escape.

I wandered for a long time in this hazy fog, and I had been confused for a few years, and I could not give up, but I had no direction. I tried hard to find out all kinds of ideals to rush out of the fog, but life had brought me a lot of jokes and was broken by reality.

I have hoped countless times in the night sky above my forehead to have a blinking star to light up for me, and a shining star can break it. How I wish I could have a goal, a yearning to rush out of the fog and change my life, but I was surrounded by a cruel reality.

Don't let confusion lose myself. It's my firm belief that I can do it without knowing it. With it, I saw the light outside the fog.

In the days to come, although my words are not perfect, but I see the hope, they will go for one time.

People find their ideal in the confusion, the real number is not easy. Wish us to be strong on the road of our own life, not to be lost and lost in the direction of self.

One day, a colt took a bag of wheat to the mill. As he was running with the bag on his back, he came to a small river. The colt could not decide whether he could cross it. Looking around, he saw a cow grazing nearby. He asked, “Aunt Cow, could you tell me if I can cross the river?” The cow told him that he could and that the river was not very deep, just knee high.

The colt was crossing the river when a squirrel jumped down fron a tree and stopped him. The squirrel shouted, “Colt, stop! You’ll drown! One of my friends drowned just yesterday in the river.” Not knowing what to do, the colt went home to consult his mum.

He told his mum his experience on the way. His mother said, “My child, don’t always listen to others. You’d better go and try yourself. Then you’ll know what to do.” Later, at the river, the squirrel stopped the colt again. “Little horse, it’s too dangerous!” “No, I want to try myself,” answered the colt. Then he crossed the river carefully.

You see, real knowledge comes from practice.

As the song goes “ My future isn’t a dream .” I love the song which brings me confidence when singing it every time . I believe that all our dreams can come true if we have courage to pursue them .When I was young my father always asked me what I would be in the future . Sometimes I found it very hard to give a certain reply . “ I want to be a doctor .” “ I want to be a teacher .” and “ I ’d like to be a scientist !” Many of these answers are perhaps very childish and ridiculous . But I never think they are far away .

How time flies! Who is able to give a definition to his future ? I know clearly that those high buildings are based on solid foundation . As a student , I should have a reasonable aim , and study hard . My goal is to enter the best university for further study after middle school . I know it’s hard work , and I ’ll come across many difficulties and frustrations . But no matter what they are , I’ll keep working on it and never give up . My teacher says there ’s only one kind of people that are truly successful : those who are brave enough to put up with hardships . Even if I won’t achieve the goal , I have no regrets for what I have done , for I have struggled for my life .

To conquer our fears, we must go past them.

To fear is natural; to go past them is heroic. Fear is a normal part of life, symbolizing that there are new, extraordinary things to e across and face. To be able to see these things before they happen is a sign of wisdom. Fear is nothing out of the ordinary. To admit that we are fearing is to prove that we value our life.

And men should pay attention to the call of fears. To truly be a leader or someone who is heroic and brave, we should focus on getting past these fears. And it is frightful for people to go through life ignoring fears, because they may often forget their heart and step into life without responsibility.

To be born is to live. To live is to fear. To fear is to be challenged. To accept our fears is to be mature. It needs bravery, maturity and vitality to face our fears, accept the challenges and hope for the best.

We can take the mysterious, hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine, just like a sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

We are all in the position of the farmer. If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of weeds, we reap a useless crop. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

I want the future to be better than the past. I don’t want it contaminated by the mistakes and errors with which history is filled. We should all be concerned about the future because that is where we will spend the reminder of our lives.

The past is gone and static. Nothing we can do will change it. The future is before us and dynamic. Everything we do will effect it.

Each day will brings with it new frontiers, in our homes and in our businesses, if we will only recognize them. We are just at the beginning of the progress in every field of human endeavor.

You are Absolutely Unique

Enjoy that uniquenesss1. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You do not have to lie to hide the parts of you that are not like what you see in anyone else.

You were meant to be different. Nowhere, in all of history, will the same things be going on in anyone’s mind, soul and spirit as are going on in yours right now.

If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap2 in history, and something missing from the plan for humankind. Treasure your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you. Enjoy it and share it!

No one can reach out to others in the same way that you can. No one can speak your words. No one can convey your meanings. No one can comfort others with your kind of comfort. No one can bring your kind of understanding to another person. No one can be cheerful and light-hearted3 and joyous4 in your way. No one can smile your smile. No one else can bring the whole unique impact of you to another human being.

Share your uniqueness. Let it flow out freely among your family and friends, and the people you meet in the rush and clutter of living, wherever you are. That gift of yourself was given to you to enjoy and share. Give yourself away!

See it! Receive it!

Let it inform you, move you and inspire you!

It is not easy to think positive thoughts when the world around you appears to be so negative. In fact, it can be as difficult as anything you’ve ever done. However, it is absolutely possible to fill your mind with positive thoughts no matter what the environment is. Doing so makes you powerful like nothing else can.

To think positively is to alignyourselfwith1 the truth that you’re immersed2 in limitless, growing abundance. To think positively is to pleasantly accept that your life is full of meaningful and unique achievements.

Instead of placing a judgement on your situation, apply your most positive purposes to that situation. Instead of seeing the world as negative, see yourself as a powerful agent of the positive possibilities.

If you find yourself giving in to negativity, you are selling yourself short. The moment you feel the slightest pain of a negative thought, stop and remind yourself how powerful you are. Do the intentional work of keeping your thoughts positive. Because whatever you always think is where your life will surely and steadily go.

What is your most ideal day? Do you know exactly how you want to live your life for the next five days, five weeks, five months or five years? When was the last best day of your life? When is the next?

The best day of our lives is today. The past is no longer here. We cannot enjoy it any longer. To dwell on the past is to waste the opportunity to enjoy the present. The future is a promise, a time that will not come because what we have is only today. When tomorrow comes, it will not be tomorrow any more; it becomes your today. You cannot enjoy tomorrow unless you know how to enjoy your today. If you are to live thirty more years, you are going to experience 10,950 todays. But every day that passes without your notice is a day cut off from your life. Your life is a day shorter every new day.

Each day is a decision to live. Today is a gift; this is why it is called the "present"。 How you use this day is up to you. At each new day, you decide whether to unwrap that gift, or let it stay in the corner and spoil. Each day is a decision to live your ideal life.

Positive thinking. I’m obviously a big proponent of positive thinking as the best way to achieve your goals, but it turns out that it can lead to happiness too. Optimism and self-esteem are some of the best indicators of people who lead happy lives. Happy people feel empowered, in control of their lives, and have a positive outlook on life. Action steps: Make positive thinking a habit. In fact, this should be one of the first habits you develop. Get into the habit of squashing all negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. Instead of “I can’t” think“I can”。 It may sound corny, but it has worked for me, every time.

Extend the Miracle

My skills, my mind, my heart, and my body will stagnate, rot, and die lest I put them to good use. I have unlimited potential. Only a small portion of my brain do I employ; only a paltry amount of my muscles do I flex. A hundredfold or more can I increase my accomplishments of yesterday and this I will do, beginning today.

Nevermore will I be satisfied with yesterdays accomplishments nor will I indulge, anymore, in self-praise for deeds which in reality are too small to even acknowledge. I can accomplish far more than I have, and I will, for why should the miracle which produced me end with my birth? Why can I not extend that miracle to my deeds of today?

And I am not on this earth by chance. I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply all my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy.

I have been given eyes to see and a mind to think and now I know a great secret of life for I perceive, at last, that all my problems, discouragements, and heartaches are, in truth, great opportunities in disguise. I will no longer be fooled by the garments they wear for mine eyes are open. I will look beyond the cloth and I will not be deceived.

Why do you spend your time in sadness? Know that you are the source of all happiness.

Why do you spend your days in fear? Know that your mere sight can make difficulties disappear. Why do you cry and ask for help?

Know that you are the best man for your own help. Why do you feel so weak and helpless? Know that you are, in all sides, matchless. Why do you feel so depressed?

Know that you are the blessed. Why do you feel so stressed? Know that you can have anything at your orders. Why don’t you act on opportunities? Know that you can go through all disasters. Why don’t you live life to the full? Know that there is no point in being dull. Why do you doubt your talent and skill? Know that you can achieve anything with your incredible will. Why do you spend life feeling so miserable4?Know that no matter what, your soul is indestructible.

There is actually a pie in the sky. It was made especially for you. It is your favorite flavor. You can eat as much of it as you want. It is all yours and you don’t have to share it with anyone.

Now, all you have to do to get your pie is build a set of stairs, climb up your stairs, and reach out your hand to take it.

First, you must figure out what the design of your stairs will be. If you don’t know, find a person who has managed to build a set of stairs to reach his pie, and find out what needs to be done.

Next, you will need to prepare for your stairs. You need to buy the wood and the tools. You might need to replace some broken tools.

Finally, and this is the hardest step, you need to focus your mind on your work. The actual work requires constructing the stairs. You may find that you’ve worked really hard for days, weeks or even months, and then suddenly find that your stairs are not going to line up with your pie. So you need to make sure that you still have money to buy new materials and rebuild your stairs in the right direction.

With proper planning and careful pacing, you will be able to reach your pie. Your pie is right there, right above you. All you need to do is get it.

We’re Just Beginning

“We are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book whose pages are infinite…”

I do not know who wrote those words, but I have always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want to make it. We can take the mysterious, hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine, just as a sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

We are all in the position of the farmer. If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of weeds, we reap a useless crop. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

Surrounding you are angels, they are there to guide your path. If weakness overes you, they’ll give you strength if you will ask. They are your protection when life seems too hard to bear, and though you feel alone at times, the angels, they are there…

Their faces may be hidden, and their voices you might not hear, but they are always with you through your laughter or your tears.

They’ll walk along beside you, they’ll guide your steps along the way, they’ll fort you and hold you, protect you night and day. They’ll hold to your hand tightly, and will not ever let it go, and they’ll gently lead you forward, taking each step very slow.

When life is overwhelming, and your spirit has grown tired, know that they’ll be there for you to uplift and to inspire. And when you’re torn and lonely, and you see no hope ahead, know that they will nourish you, and your spirit will be fed.

For even in the darkest hour, when all of hope seems gone, they’ll give you strength to live your life, and desire to go on. And if your faith in Heaven should ever fade away, they’ll help renew your spirit, and help you find your way.

Angles are always there; and upon their strength and guidance, you always may rely.

I was living in Chicago and going through what was a particularly cold winter both in my personal life and the outside temperature. One evening I was walking home from a bar where I had been drinking alone, feeling sorry for myself, when I saw a homeless man standing over an exhaust grate in front of a department store. He was wearing a filthy sport coat and approaching everyone who passed by for money.

I was too immersed in my own troubles to deal with him so I crossed the street. As I went by, I looked over and saw a businessman come out of the store and pull a ski parka out of a bag and hand it to the homeless man. For a moment both the man and I were frozen in time as the businessman turned and walked away. Then the man looked across the street at me. He shook his head slowly and I knew he was crying.

It was the last time I have ever been able to disappear into my own sorrow.

I recently started a new job, in a small office, where four of us share a fridge. In that fridge is a Brita water filter pitcher. One of my coworkers plained the water tasted "dirty". It went on for a few days, and she was stunned I could drink the water without any trouble. I started to doubt my taste buds, but the water really tasted fine.

Finally, she figured out the problem was actually her cup. She simply forgot to clean it, and after awhile started to affect the water inside it. She cleaned her cup, and drank the water with no problem.

I can't help but think about the world we live in. Too often we quickly blame other people, other things, anything else but ourselves. "You're racist". "You're intolerant". "You're the problem". The world isn't perfect, I know, but I think we should take a step back sometimes and ask ourselves some tough questions.

Can I be better? Is my heart really pure? Can I help this situation with kindness?

I want to tell you this; please clean your cup. Because when you do, the water will taste much better. I promise you this.

People often wonder why historians have bothered to save millions of books, documents and records.

Why do we have a library? What are the benefits of these documents and history books? Why do we record and preserve human behavior, the negotiations of government officials and the events of the war?

We do this because sometimes the voice of experience stops us, look, listen. Sometimes, understanding the past records in the right way can help us decide what to do and what not to do. If we are to create lasting peace, we must look for its origins in human experience and human history.

From the courage and devotion of men and women, we create the inspiration of youth. History Chronicles people's suffering, self-denial, devotion and the heroic deeds of past people. When we are confused, these records can help us when we really need peace.

The main purpose of history is to create a better world. History gives a warning to those who preach war, and to those who seek peace.

In short, history helps us learn. Yesterday's record can prevent us from repeating yesterday's mistakes. Historians have discovered the great murals6 in the fragments compiled by mosaic4, which represents progress in humanity.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young. An individual human existence should be like a river—small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls. Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

When someone looks into your eyes they should see something alive within you. Having a dream is like owning a lighthouse1 which directs you on your journey.

At every turn we come across its mystery. At each new level we become more of the person we were meant to become. In lonely times, when we pass through a storm of disappointment, we find our faith is unshaken, our strength still strong.

Believe in your faith. Set the vision before your eyes. Write down your most sincere dreams and when the opportunity comes, step into your dream. It may take one season or more, but the result is the same. Make big dreams and then go out and make them realities. The highest hopes of the dreamer are revealed with every step taken in their journey to the impossible. For a season we must protect the dream so that it can grow quietly on the inside. But if we tenderly care for our deepest expectations, slowly but surely the dream will become new life.

Dreaming is an act of faith. The light of your expectations will cast off the shadows of a disbelieving world. God has given us the dreamer as a gift to light an unbelieving world.

Find your treasure within and cherish it. Tomorrow is waiting for you to take the first step.

You are where you are. Accept it and feel the power your acceptance gives you to move forward.

This moment is as it is. Accept its uniqueness and experience the freedom of not having to fight against it.

There are difficult challenges in your life. Accept them and feel the energy that will enable you to rise above them.

Accept that this is your starting point. Instead of placing judgements on it, see the real, positive value that’s already yours. You cannot change where your past priorities* and choices have brought you. Yet you can make use of the wisdom you’ve earned to create a future that fulfils your most treasured dreams.

Lovingly and gratefully accept who you’ve been, what you’ve done, what you have and where you are. For you can now transform it all into what you most wish to be.

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy.”

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Dont you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, its not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. Theyre all for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness. Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans beings, have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses... from our children, family members, friends, and God. There is simply no other possession, anyone could hold, more precious than this.

Power of Self Talk

Life is like a big swing, dangling between the depths of happiness and sadness. As soon as we descend down the slope of sadness, we accelerate over the ever-feel-good acclivity of happiness. At times of distress, when we are down we slip over an abyss of emotional trauma and frustrations. One who can rise above the occasion, is the architect of many wins over sorrows.

To come above tougher times you have to pep yourself up, when you are feeling low, lost and confused. This can be done effectively by self-talk. Self-talk is a way of talking to oneself. It can be effectively used for soul searching. When talking to ourselves, we hardly lie as our conscience controls our speech. Self talk is efficient because when we are vocal about our thoughts, it makes a larger impact on our mind.

Actually many times in our life, we find others advising us to do better in studies, sports, life etc. We usually get bugged by these people and blank our ears out of their constructive suggestions. If you are an introvert and you want to be the gregarious person like you friend next door, all you need to do is talk to yourself. Tell yourself with all the sincerity and emotions that "I can be like him. I am a natural born speaker. I do like people and speaking comes naturally to me. I just have to be ready to listen and speak". Suppose you love a person and want to tell him or her, then just say to yourselves "I love her with all my heart. She is the only one and I know it. If I dont let her know, it would be grave injustice on my part.

Every person loves to be loved. Even she will". These are just some examples I have explained. Its up to you to program your own mantra. If you are highly optimistic to do better, there is no better motivator than self-talk. So guys start talking.

Time is like a sharp knife.

It can carve hard lines on beautiful faces and wear out youth year after year, but using it well can make a piece of simple stone into a great statue. St. Mary Academy is still a simple piece of white stone briefly carved, but as time marches on, duanwenw,. it may be spoiled by dust, worn out by weather, or broken into separate pieces. It may be also carefully carved by knife into wonderful statues. Everyone at school, including our schoolmates, controls this knife.

If I have a chance to live to be an old woman, I shall, in my peaceful dreams, seek the old paths leading through the trees which I used to travel down in my earlier days. The old bell tower, standing in the golden sunlight, makes a slow, solemn1 sound as girls pour into the church like a stream. There they will kneel, pray and whisper to their spiritual Lord about the little things in their lives. They will ask him to help them in reaching their future goals and I can hear the old church tower whisper in return, “Yes, St. Mary certainly possesses the most hard-working girls that shall glorify2 her with their bright futures!”

What I feel when I hear these words depends on whether I have done anything meaningful over the years. If I have been successful, I will smile with pride and contentment, for I have taken a part, though a very small part, in carving out, with the knife of time, this wonderful model of school life.
