适度的挫折具有一定的积极意义，它可以帮助人们驱走惰性，促使人奋进。挫折又是一种挑战和考验。英国哲学家培根说过：“超越自然的奇迹多是在对逆境的征服中出现的。”遭受挫折不可怕，可怕的是没有遭受过挫折。因为只有经过，才懂得如何去面对，才能感受到战胜挫折之后的那种愉悦。

首先，挫折帮助你成长。人的成长过程是适应社会要求的过程，如果适应得好，就觉得宽心和谐；如果不适应，就觉得别扭、失意。而适应就要学会调整自己的动机、追求和行为。一个人出生时；根本不知道什么是对，什么是错，正是通过鼓励、制止、允许、反对、奖励、处罚、引导、劝说，甚至身体上的体罚与限制才学得举止与行为的适应和得当，学会在不同环境、不同时间、不同对象、不同规范条件下调整行为。反之，从小无法无天的孩子，一旦独立生活就会被淹没在矛盾和挫折之中。
